Anniversary Sunday is to celebrate our church's first Sunday as a new church on January 15, 2006.
We celebrate Easter Sunday with a special message and usually some presentation by our children.
Mothers are special and so is this Sunday when we honor the mothers (last year we had a Tea Party hosted by our children) in various ways.
Several of our members have been instrumental in the annual hosting of this event that draws about 400 the first Thursday in May for a breakfast and speakers. It is held at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.
Maybe not as big in our world as Mother's Day, but our kids like to have a surprise ready for our dads and grandfathers.
During the summer months, we enjoy a variety of social gatherings: backyard BBQ's; game and sports' nights; going as a group to the car shows in Escondido; etc.
Since we meet in a school, we generally do some things to bless them, such as: gift packets for teachers; backpacks for students in need; and supporting their Adopt-a-Family program at Christmas.
For about twelve years, we have either led or supported an annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the San Marcos Senior Center, serving about 600-800 meals each year to the elderly, poor, homeless plus anyone needing a place of love and fellowship.
Highly embedded in our church culture is the annual sending of toys, clothes, school supplies, etc. to children all over the world in a simple shoebox filled with goodies. This is managed globally by Samaritan's Purse.
During December, we host a Ladies' Christmas luncheon, various parties, a special worship Sunday with Christmas music and a presentation by our children, as well as a Christmas Eve service

With our creative children's leader, April McBride, we have learned to be on the alert at anytime for our kids to serve us, entertain us, present projects they've been developing, or share with us a song or presentation during our worship services. And, we LOVE it!
